Edexcel BTEC Extended Certificate in Uniformed Public Services
This product does not have fixed starting dates and/or places.
Students must attend College for one day a week. In 2012 this
will be a Tuesdays for Year 10 and 11.
Times of attendance are between 10.00am - 2.30pm.
The aim is to meet the needs of learners working towards a career with an armed or blue light uniformed public service allowing students to tailor their learning to the uniformed public service they are interested in, develop practical skills required for employment and work on their fitness levels ready for pre-entry tests. Units include:
- Public service skills
- Employment in the uniformed public service
- Career planning
- Adventurous activities & teamwork
The teaching of these subjects will be a combination of both theory and practical sessions.
Functional Skills
You will also work towards nationally recognised functional
qualifications in English, Maths and ICT.
Assessment strategies will consist of practical observations, written evidence, reports and presentations.
ProgressionSuccessful learners may progress to a full time post 16 Level 3 programme, Apprenticeship or employment.
All progression routes are reliant upon the student reaching certain levels in Literacy and Numeracy.
