It covers a great selection of floristry designs for all occasions. You will observe the lecturers and then make the designs yourself. You can then go on to sketch and label them. Excellent reputation for floristry training within the industry 5. Progression to level 2 What will I Study? Art and design in floristry-the colour wheel, drawing flowers. Practical skills, methods and techniques that are required to produce floristry designs. Modern and traditional designs for all occasions. Display techniques in a florist. How to develop own personal performance. Working in a team. Working effectively in the industry. The names of cut flowers, flowering and foliage plants. Pricing of stock. Health and safety in the workplace. How will I be Taught? Your lessons will include demonstrations of all of the designs. You will then be able to re-create them with the support and guidance of the lecturers. Some lessons will be theory based and will involve lectures and discussions with question and answer activities. Sometimes you will be required to work individually and sometimes in a group or pair. You will receive constructive feedback to develop all of your skills. How will I be Assessed? You will be assessed throughout by coursework in the portfolio. There is also a multiple choice question paper on Health and Safety. There are some assessments for practical designs but these are not timed. What our students say? Floristry is fun.
