This course is suitable for those who are interested in accessory design who would like to extend their portfolio by adding this valuable experience to their set of skills. It is also good for those who are in fashion willing to know more about accessory design, and also for theatre costume designers and makers and anyone interested in craft. It is also ideal for teachers involved in creative subjects who want to add a unique skill to their repertoire.
By the end of this course you will have:
- explored leather manipulating techniques, pattern making for gloves, leather cutting skills and stitching skills
- explored measuring techniques for glove making
- explored basic leather stitching techniques and finishing techniques.
Prior skills in glove making are not needed to participate in this course as you will learn all the basic processes and techniques. It would be useful to have some stitching and pattern making skills, though this is not essentials as the basics will be taught.
