Description

The Level 2 course is designed for those with little or no experience of Computer Aided Design (CAD).
This course is designed for students to gain an appreciation of CAD using AutoCAD software to gain a City & Guilds Award.

Description

You will complete a number of exercises using the software, which will enable you to complete two drawing assignments as set by City & Guilds.

You will also complete a written examination which is taken online.

How long is the course?

The course lasts for one year based on attendance of one evening a week from September to June.

Starting Tuesday 13 September 2011 and will be held in SW102;
and
Starting Wednesday 14 September 2011 and will be held in SW102.

Please Note: Places are limited to 14 due to availability of computer terminals.

How will I be assessed?

The drawing assignments of the course are assessed internally.

The written examination is a multiple choice examination which is taken online and is externally marked.

You will complete practical assessments in CAD to gain an understanding of the functions of the software and gain an understanding of the functions and operations of the Computer System related to CAD.

What does the course lead to?

On completion of the course you can continue with your studies on the Level 3 Award in 2D Computer Aided Design.

This course will give you a broad appreciation of the features of CAD and could lead to enhanced career opportunities.

Entry requirements

There are no qualifications needed to gain entry to the course but a basic understanding of computers and numeracy would be beneficial.
