This course is designed for people who are not familiar with PCs and want to know more. For instance, if you want a career change, or are returning to work after a break, or just want to understand why and when to use the available functions.
This course will gives you the confidence to start effectively and efficiently using a computer, identify and use key components and gain valuable skills to explore further. The course is highly interactive with plenty of hands-on exercises.

suggest the following as a minimum:
- Type text and press key combinations using a PC keyboard
- Mouse actions (point, click, double-click, and alt-click)
Delegates will learn how to
- switch on and log on/off
- use and configure the mouse
- use the keyboard and perform simple tasks and formatting within Word and Excel
- work with Windows
- manage files and folders
- explain the difference between hardware, software and peripherals
- use Spell Check, Print and Print Preview
- locate files and identify file types
- perform simple troubleshooting tasks
