Performing Arts – Acting BTEC Level 3 Certificate / Subsidiary Diploma
Level: Level 3
The first year serves as an introduction into the discipline and art of professional acting. Students will explore the work of practitioners in the field of drama improvisation including Viola Spolin, Keith Johnstone and the traditional theories of Stanislavski, underpinning the principles of acting which will be applied practically throughout the course culminating in an end of year production.
In the second Subsidiary Diploma Year, students apply the practical skills and theories learnt on the Certificate programme. They will plan, devise and create their own performance as a theatre company. Students will also conduct (with tutor support) their own special subject investiga…

Students will also conduct (with tutor support) their own special subject investigation thus identifying their own progression routes.
Extra-curricular activities such as theatre visits and trips are organised to contextualise and support the students learning and development.
