Diploma in Complementary Therapies

Introduction

The Hair and Beauty industry is a very exciting and dynamic sector of employment and offers a variety of career options. This programme will equip you with the skills to be able to practice as a Complementary Therapist. This course is both theory and practical based. The emphasis is on case studies to enable you to recognise the affects of holistic treatments.

What Will I Learn

You will gain a deeper understanding of the key concepts and practical skills of various holistic treatments such as reflexology and aromatherapy as well as differing massage theories and applications.

How Will I Be Assessed?

You will carry out a range of practical assessments within a commercial working environment. You will also collate theoretical evidence in the form of assignments, case studies and tests.

Entry Requirements

You will already hold 4 GCSE Grade C or above OR a full Level 2 Diploma Beauty qualification.

Additional Information

Students will need to purchase kit, uniform and text books at a cost of approximately £270. During the course there will be the opportunity to attend workshops and exhibitions at an approximate cost of £100.

Progression

The direct progression from this programme would be the HNC in Hair and Beauty Salon Management.

Career Opportunities

Positions which would be open to you will include Freelance Therapist, Self-Employed Therapist within a salon, spa, hotel, cruise liner and On-Board Flight Therapist.
