Introduction

GCSEs are recognised by employers in all areas as a measure of your educational achievements. The qualification mainly involves studying the theory of a subject, combined with some investigative work.

What Will I Learn

You will study strategies and techniques used by poets and authors to create meaning in texts. You will also analyse media and non-fiction texts such as leaflets, posters and CD covers.

Specific option requirements will be discussed at interview but evidence of a real interest in English language is expected plus a D grade at GCSE level.

Additional Information

There are 2 options to study this course. Daytime: 1 hour plus 1.5 hours per week (two sessions). Evening: 2 hours per week (one session).

Progression

The course will allow you to progress to Level 3 Vocational and A Level courses.
