Introduction

This is the second year following the Subsidiary Diploma where you will be given the opportunity to specialise in either Software Development or Network and System Support.

What Will I Learn

This course covers practical skills, as well as the underpinning knowledge and understanding you will need to progress in the industry. The programme is jointly developed by IT specialists and IT educators, so it is both industry focused and up-to-date.

How Will I Be Assessed?

All units are assessed through coursework assignments and an overall grade is awarded for the whole qualification. Unit grades are Pass, Merit or Distinction. The full qualification grades range from PPP to DDD. Literacy and Numeracy Functional Skills components will be assessed through tests.

Entry Requirements

You must have completed the Subsidiary Diploma.

Additional Information

A £50 fee will be payable on enrolment for a programme of trips that will be arranged throughout the academic year.

The course offers an established route into Higher Education and is a good second stage for those seeking a career in technical or customer support, computer systems sales and marketing, all levels of programming, systems analysis and design and software
