The Level 2 Award in Conflict Management helps staff to avoid, and manage, conflict within the work environment.

This training course has been designed and created with conflict management specialists in the licensed retail sector to help people recognize incidents of workplace violence. It is for people working in an environment where conflict may arise.

The qualification enables candidates to understand the responsibilities of employers and employees in relation to workplace violence under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.

Such incidents can range from the relatively minor problems of people causing nuisance in a premises - for example, through unacceptable levels of swearing - to serious incidents involving physical abuse and damage to property.

The course helps you to understand:

- what is meant by the terms 'risk' and 'hazard'
- the causes of workplace violence
- how to identify and reduce hazards through risk assessment
- why and how conflict situations can arise
- how to deal with conflict when it has arisen
- the law in relation to self-defence victim support
- the importance of reporting and recording incidents of workplace violence

In order to pass, candidates must answer correctly 23 out of the 30 examination questions.

On successful completion of the course you will have the necessary skills to handle conflict in the workplace. The qualification awarded is the Level 2 Certificate in Conflict Management. it will enhance your communication skills, self confidence and your ability to deal with conflict.

No prior qualifications required.
