Students are taught using a range of methods including trough
tutor-led sessions, real life case studies, class discussions and
smaller, group discussions.
As part of our membership of the Gazelle group of colleges, we
organise for guest speakers from the world of business to come in
and work with our students, as well as take students on educational
visits and to enterprise seminars.
Students will also be expected to undertake work experience
placements in both year 1 and year 2.
Assessment is through a portfolio of written assignments, practical
role plays and business enterprise activities. All work is assessed
internally and verified.
You will gain a multitude of transferable business skills and achieve a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business Marketing and Retail, which is the equivalent to three A-Levels.
You should want to study a course that is active and enjoyable
as well as be thinking about progressing to higher education or
perhaps starting your own retail business
You will need four GCSEs including English and maths or a
distinction grade on a First Diploma in IT
To be successful on this course, you will need:
- a strong interest in your chosen programme of study
- the commitment to work towards improving enterprise skills as
part of the programme
- the ability to discuss past experiences of education and numeracy
needs supported within the programme
You will be invited to attend an interview and complete an initial
assessment. You will have your literacy and numeracy supported
within the programme.
You can progress onto other courses at Banbury and Bicester College, including our range of university level courses. You can also start your career in marketing, retail or sales.
Every year we organise educational visits to support students' learning in the classroom. These may be within the UK or abroad.
