BTEC L1 Diploma in Health & Social Care

Who is this course for? Regardless of school grades, this is a fresh start if you want to learn about working with children. You will need to be determined and disciplined, have great attendance and the right attitude to learning is key to your success. You will gain a qualification in this vocational area and study towards English, Maths and Personal Development. Successful learners will have the opportunity to go onto work placement during the course. What qualifications or experience do I need ? Minimum of: - 2 GCSEs grade E or above in academic subjects including English Language and Maths - Satisfactory test results in English and Maths at E3 and above - Suitablity to work with vulnerable people - Satisfactory reference and a good attendance/punctuality record What will I study ? The course includes the following units: * Health Needs * Creative and leisure activities for children and adults * Promoting healthy eating in care * Personal care in health and social care * Communication with adults and children in health and social care * Job opportunities in health and social care * Preparing for work placement * Vocational work experience is compulsory How will I be assessed ? Units are assessed through written assignments, observations and placement settings. What qualifications could I achieve ? On successful completion of this course, students will achieve a BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care at Level 1. What can the course lead to ? Students who successfully complete this course may progress onto the following courses: BTEC Level 2 in Health and Social Care or related subject areas. How do I join the course ?
