The course includes the following units: * Health Needs * Creative and leisure activities for children and adults * Promoting healthy eating in care * Personal care in health and social care * Communication with adults and children in health and social care * Job opportunities in health and social care * Preparing for work placement * Vocational work experience is compulsory How will I be assessed ? Units are assessed through written assignments, observations and placement settings. What qualifications could I achieve ? On successful completion of this course, students will achieve a BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care at Level 1. What can the course lead to ? Students who successfully complete this course may progress onto the following courses: BTEC Level 2 in Health and Social Care or related subject areas. How do I join the course ? By going on line: www.barnet.ac.uk or by filling in an application form and sending it to Admissions. Will I need an interview ? Yes. Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ? Students will need to pay for a Criminal Record Bureau check �50.00, text book (�20.00), and stationery.
