NPTC Certificate of Competence in the Transport of Animals by Road - Long Journey

Defra and EU regulations mean that those who transport animals in connection with an economic activity need to have a certificate confirming that they are competent to do so. There are 2 levels of certification:

• Short journey - over 65 km/40miles but under 8 hrs duration (£75.00, plus £20 for every specie)
• Long journey - over 65k/40 miles and over 8 hrs duration (£160.00)

We can arrange Long Journey assessments as required by the individual candidate. This consists of 3 units:

1. Principles of transporting animlals by road on long journeys, covering all the sections as above. This can be taken on-line as above, or assessed verbally
2. Specific practices involved in long journeys
3. Practical assessment driving an animal transport vehicle
