Foundation Degree in Sports Development & Coaching
This two year, full time course is run in collaboration with Staffordshire University. It is designed to develop the understanding and skills of coaches within a practical and supportive environment. It will also encompass units helping candidates understand the role of sports development within society.
The course aims to accentuate the vocationally orientated nature of this foundation degree. Any students who successfully complete the first year will achieve a Higher Education Certificate in Sports Development and Coaching.

Entry Requirements
80 Ucas points from One A2 level plus three GCSEs (grades A-C), or BTEC / NVQ Level 3 in Sport Related Subject. Applicants should have current/recent relevant work experience and have clear communication skills.
Delivery & Assessment methods
These will be varied - Students will be assessed through written reports, presentations, online course submission, individual and group work, work based projects.
Progression
This course can be used to gain access to an additional third year on the BA (Hons) Sport (Coaching & Development) degree programme at Staffordshire University (subject to university validation). Alternatively you may chose to use your Foundation Degree to gain employment in the industry and develop your academic career through part-time study.
