This course is for candidates who want to work as a sports massage therapist.

You will also enhance your skills to evaluate massage strategies and methods to inform on future practice.
Course content
This course is made up of a number of different units that will help you to gain successful employment
- Functional anatomy and physiology
- Nutrition
- Classification of sports injuries and the stages of healing
- Understanding skills and techniques to plan, prepare for and apply a range of sports massage methods to un-injured clients
- Evaluate massage
Entry Requirements
Candidates need to be aged 17 or over and possess a Level 2 anatomy qualification
Delivery & Assessment methods
The course is a predominantly competence based course and you will be required to demonstrate your skills during practical assessments and maintain a portfolio of evidence. There is a multiple choice style exam included for health and safety units. You will be required to undertake some assessment at sporting events and these may take place outside of the normal course timeslot.
