What will I study?

This new Level 2 Introductory Certificate has been designed to aid anyone who would like to develop and improve their skills in the workplace. This certificate benefits not only the individual but also the company; it could mean cost savings and quality improvements in the workplace. The course is primarily aimed at students who wish to start on the procurement and supply career ladder or those who have just started and want to improve their knowledge.

The course covers a number of different elements including the role and scope of purchasing, systems and procedures in purchasing, working with suppliers and some legal aspects of procurement, especially contracting.

The course will conclude with a short online multi-choice assessment, lasting about 1 hour.

How will the course be delivered?

The course will be delivered over three separate days (Fridays) from 9.30am – 4.30pm.

Course Entry Criteria

There are no entry requirements for this level however an interest in procurement and supply would be an advantage.

The college operates a no refunds policy as detailed below. Cancellations and transfer requests are subject to the following conditions:

• More than 4 weeks notice – no charge
• 4 weeks notice – 30% of the cost
• 2-3 weeks notice – 50% of the cost
• 1-2 weeks notice – 75% of the cost
• Less than 1 weeks notice – 100% of the cost

All cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to a £10 administration charge. The full fee’s policy is available on request.

What will I get at the end of the course?

You will receive a Level 2 Certificate of Attendance in Procurement from Blackburn College

What can I do next?

CIPS is available at Levels 3, 4, 5 and 6, so you may progress onto the next level.

How much does it cost?

£299 per person.
