As a purchasing and supply management apprentice, you’ll be involved in supply chain management. You’ll learn many skills like how to help control the ordering and delivery of materials, or how to manage materials, stock and storage. Typical job roles would be Purchasing Assistant or Supply Chain Operator.

  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) Introductory Certificate in Purchasing and Supply Level 2.

NVQ Level 2 Supply Chain Management

  • Workplace assessment and observations. 2 Mandatory units and 6 from 9 optional units.
  • Identify potential suppliers for the supply chain
  • Place orders with suppliers
  • Monitor and progress the delivery of orders
  • Monitor the flow of supplies in the supply chain
  • Obtain information on storage locations and facilities
  • Obtain information on distribution requirements
  • Monitor the distribution of supplies
  • Monitor the flow of returned supplies
  • Monitor the transportation of supplies

Entry requirements

The Apprentice must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in a suitable role to demonstrate competence. There must be a line manager committed to on-the-job training who will liaise with College staff.
