Apprenticeship in Warehousing & Storage
General information
This Apprenticeship is designed for those working in a Warehouse environment as an operative undertaking general warehouse duties including; safe and identifiable storage of goods, safe movement of goods either manually or with mechanical assistance (i.e. fork lift truck) and loading onto vehicles. To do this job well you’ll need to be highly organised and ready to take responsibility.
Course content
The framework is comprised of:
- Portfolio in Functional Skills
- NVQ L2 warehousing and Storage; 2 mandatory units and 6 optional units chosen from 15 to allow relevance to job responsibilities.
- CILT L2 Introductory Certificate in Logistics and Transport

Entry requirements
The Apprentice must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in a suitable role to demonstrate competence. There must be a line manager committed to on-the-job training who will liaise with College staff.

Further progression opportunities reflect the range of career options within a logistics environment, which could include:
- Logistics Operations Management Advanced Apprenticeship - managing the day to day running of your area, ensuring the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods meet the required standards.
- Traffic office Advanced Apprenticeship - taking responsibility for the organisation of a delivery, collection or distribution fleet of vehicles
- Driving Goods Vehicle Advanced Apprenticeship – upskilling to become a senior large goods vehicle driver
- Foundation Degree in Logistics
