General information

This is a level three qualification equivalent to an A Level, once learners have completed the CeFS course initially, and attracts UCAS points. By taking the course you will gain an insight into the financial services industry to help you to identify opportunities for future careers and develop new financial products for a range of users.

General information

This is a level three qualification equivalent to an A Level, once learners have completed the CeFS course initially, and attracts UCAS points. By taking the course you will gain an insight into the financial services industry to help you to identify opportunities for future careers and develop new financial products for a range of users.

Course content

The course is comprised of two units:

  1. Sustainability for an Individual’s Finances (SIF), examined in February
  2. Sustainability of the Financial System (SFS), examined in May

Teaching and assessment

Assessment is by two exam papers. Each exam will include a multiple choice element (which contributes 35% towards the mark), a case study element (which contributes 60%) and a 5% mark for good spelling, punctuation and grammar in each. As with other A-levels, the course is graded A* to E with a 40% minimum required to pass in both units.

Entry requirements

You will need have passed the Certificate in Financial Studies Level 3 (CeFS) to grade D or above and have a minimum of 7 A*- C grade GCSEs including Maths and English. Additional requirements may apply and will be discussed at the time of your interview.

Progression

Successfully passing both the CeFS qualification and the DipFS qualification gives the student a full A Level equivalent.
