LEVEL 1 DIPLOMA INTRODUCTION TO TRAVEL, TOURISM & HOSPITALITY

This course is designed to encourage you to develop the personal skills and qualities that you need for work in Travel & Tourism and the Hospitality industry. The wide range of skills that you will learn on this course are transferrable to many employment opportunities in different sectors of the industry.

How you will gain the qualification

You will be continually assessed using a range of methods including:

Assignments which may be written, practical or online

Projects including presentations, surveys and investigations

Case studies which are studies on for example - a travel company, visitor attraction, hotels, theme parks, zoos and jobs

Practical exercises in the on site restaurant and travel agency

Educational visits which will help you to understand about the tourism and hospitality industries

What qualifications you need

You will normally need to have at least one of the following:

4 E grades or above at GCSE

Entry Certificate in Skills for Working Life, Life Skills or other Entry Level 3 qualifications

An appropriate standard of literacy and numeracy

You will be invited to an interview, where you will meet staff who will explain about the course and answer any questions you may have.

You will achieve a wide range of qualifications and experiences during your time on this course and you will develop your confidence and time management skills, test your ability to solve problems, work individually and as part of a team.
