NCFE Creative Craft using Art and Design

Summary:

This qualification enables you to develop basic skills in art and design. It will provide you with knowledge of the craft process for art and design and also provide you with a basis for progression into further study in art and design, for example, Access.

Start Date: 11/07/2011 End Date: 22/07/2011 Course Length: 2 weeks with half day induction on Friday 24 June, 9.30-12.30 Course Schedule: Induction, Friday 24 June 9.30-12.30 then course starts Monday 11 July. Course Monday - Friday 9.30-2.30 Entry Requirements:

Assessment:

The NCFE Level 1 Award in Creative Craft using Art and Design is internally assessed.

Each candidate is required to create a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates achievement the Units detailed below.

Academic Progression:

Progression can be to further study such as Access or other Level 2 or 3 art course

Full Description:

The objectives of the course are to help you to:

• Develop a portfolio of work in art and design
• Use materials, tools and equipment correctly and safely
• Develop an understanding of Health and Safety considerations surrounding art and design

The qualification consists of 3 units:

Unit 01: Explore available resources to develop basic art and design skills

Unit 02: Explore and develop art and design crafts creatively

Unit 03: Create, present and review final art and design item(s)
