You will learn in our dedicated construction centre, where our workshops are fitted with the latest tools for you to get to grips with each trade. Tutors with a wealth of industry experience will help you to develop your skills, so that you become competent in a range of subjects. Throughout your course you will also have the opportunity to showcase your skills at a number of events and competitions including Skills Build, and benefit from the fantastic links we have with local employers. Your learning will also be supported and extended through visits from construction companies and educational visits.

What next

After successfully completing the course you could enter employment at a junior level, in a wide range of areas, such as carpentry, bricklaying or building conservation. You could also progress on to a Level 3 course at the college.

Entry requirements

A BTEC Level 1 qualification in construction or a related vocational area, A standard of literacy and numeracy supported by a general education equivalent to four GCSEs at grade D-G Other related Level 1 qualifications
