About This Course:

This course aims to develop your experience in working the reflexes of the foot, helping you to develop an impression of the client’s health. During the course you will be taught the practical skills in reflexology as well as the relevant knowledge in anatomy and physiology. There are two parts to this course, leading to the SQA Higher National Unit in Reflexology and a College Certificate in Reflexology.

What You Need:
  • There are no formal entry requirements but you must complete Part 1 – Anatomy Physiology before you can progress to Part 2 - Reflexology. You are required to wear a tunic and trousers for the practical classes.

  • To equal your class time with self study and/or skills practice at home.

What You Study:

Part 1 – Anatomy Physiology

Study of systems of the body with emphasis on the circulatory and lymphatic systems and in-depth anatomy. Disorders of the body systems.

Part 2 – Reflexology

Zones and mapping of the hands and feet; Condition of the feet e.g., corns, athletes foot, etc. contra-indications, client reaction to treatment, taking an assessment prior to treatment, holistic approach to mind, body and spirit. The theory of reflexology: how it works, care of individuals e.g., children, diabetics, the frail etc, client care and professional ethics, practical preparation, reflexology techniques, hygienic precautions and record keeping.

After The Course:

You can apply for positions within the industry or you could provide treatments as a self employed Reflexologist.

24 weeks on a Tuesday from 6pm–9pm.
