About This Course:

This advanced level course aims to produce qualified practitioners. It makes you eligible for professional membership and insurance in the field of complementary therapies – either in specialist clinics or working in the health profession.

You’ll develop many skills on the course, and relate to clients with confidence. You’ll participate in a number of extra curricular activities and come to appreciate more deeply the role played by a complementary therapist.

You’ll develop many skills on the course, and relate to clients with confidence. You’ll participate in a number of extra curricular activities and come to appreciate more deeply the role played by a complementary therapist.

What You Need:
  • Two Higher Grade passes at Grade C or above, including English or equivalent or NQ Communication Intermediate 2 and Higher, or Communication 4.
  • Two other passes at Standard Grade (or equivalent) credit level including a science subject, OR:
  • Appropriate science and vocational modules.
  • Or an appropriate NC at Level 6 (eg Beauty Care or Wellness Therapies).
  • Before we offer you a place, we’ll invite you for an interview.
  • Candidates aged 21 and over may be admitted without the normal entry qualifications. This is at the discretion of the course team.

The subjects you’ll study include Anatomy and Physiology, Body Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Stress Management, Perspectives of Health and Indian Head Massage

After The Course:

Career

Jobs in the field of complementary therapies, the health services, Cruise Ships, Spas, Hotels or self-employment.

Continuing study

May be able to apply for advanced entry into some BA/BSc degree courses.

Two years, starting in august.
