About This Course:

To design successful products, you need to be able to think about changes in the way people live, and the need that this creates - that means being aware of social, cultural and technical factors.

Designing products that may include bottles for drinks companies, promotional items, furniture, public art, recycling materials and lots more enjoyable and interesting projects will help you use your imagination and have fun while learning.

What You Need:
  • Two Standard Grades at Credit Level in Art & Design and English.
  • Examples of your Art & Design work.

What You Study:

The NC course is a programme of practical and creative 3D design projects to introduce you to the issues that influence product design. It will give you a foundation in the creative, research, technical and analytical skills the professional product designer needs.

After The Course:

Continuing study - Most NC students go on to further study at HND level or may transfer to a related discipline eg Furniture Design. Successfully completing the NC course means you can apply to the HND course in 3D Design: Product Design.

How Long:

One year, starting in August.
