Try this course if you want to create your own made-to-measure clothes by using a commercial paper pattern learning to sew and learning to pattern cut

This is a non-accredited evening course and is suitable for beginners and students who have some experience of dressmaking and wish to refresh knowledge and skills. You learn how to use a domestic sewing machine how to record body measurements accurately and make a garment to wear.

You receive individual feedback and discussion about your work during each session. There will be no formal assessment on this course but guidance and feedback on your progression throughout the course will assist with your personal development and skill level.

You undertake a series of set tasks which encourage you to learn how to use a domestic sewing machine record accurate body measurements cut patterns and learn basic pattern cutting terms and applications. This is a practical based course with group and individual demonstrations on traditional dressmaking practices. All practice is supported by theory and technical information.

You develop your technical skills and creativity to encompass new processes and applications producing a garment to wear.

No formal entry requirements/qualifications needed just a basic knowledge and enthusiasm for dressmaking.

Re-enrol for further terms to gain more experience or try one of our other leisure-based creative courses.
