Literacy Pre Entry

If you can speak English to communicate but find reading and writing difficult, Literacy Pre Entry is the right course for you.

It helps you to take your first steps in reading and writing in English.

You learn basic literacy skills which help you in everyday life, such as:

- reading notices
- understanding timetables
- filling in forms
- taking notes

You work individually, in pairs and in groups in class using a variety of resources. You work in a friendly environment at the pace you feel comfortable with. Your teachers support you all the way.

At the start of the course, you set an individual learning plan with your tutor. Your progress is reviewed at the end of the course. There is no exam.

By improving your literacy skills, you increase your self confidence and self esteem.

You need to be able to speak English to follow the lesson.

To start the course you need to take an initial assessment and have an interview to find out if the course is right for you.

After completing Literacy Pre Entry, you can progress to our English at Work courses at Entry 1 level so you can continue to improve your skills.
