This course is for experienced solar thermal hot water installers who have previously achieved competency in a non NOS-mapped course, who require QCF accreditation and do not require any training.
The course is assessment-only. It covers the installation, commissioning and handover of solar thermal hot water systems to the new QCF framework qualification.
A training manual which accompanies the course will be sent out to you 3-4 weeks before the course and you will be expected to study in preparation for the assessments. assessment in the workshop.
The course and certificate are recognised by all the current
Microgeneration Certification Schemes as meeting the requirement
for appropriate training in solar thermal technology.
Successful completion provides training evidence for
suitably-qualified individuals to include with their application
for registration on a Microgeneration Certification Scheme that
allows self-certification. It also works as notification to
building control departments of work completed.
You need:
a G3 certificate in domestic unvented hot water systems, energy
efficiency, water regulations and NVQ Level 2 in plumbing and
heating, OR
3 years industry experience and a non-QCF qualification in solar
thermal hot water systems
The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Fundamental Principles of
Environmental Technologies is also a requirement for this
course.
This course leads to a Level 3 award within the Qualifications
and Credit Framework. The training has been mapped to National
Occupational Standards which means you are receiving the most
beneficial and industry-relevant training possible.
Upon completion of this course you can progress to our Level 3
Award in Maintenance and Inspection of Solar Thermal Hot Water
Systems.
