Woodcarving

Learn new skills and complete your own carved piece of wood on this great starter course in the craft of woodcarving.

You learn woodcarving techniques from a selection of demonstrations and exercises. More advanced students will develop ideas with design and technical guidance from the tutor.

In this class you work on your own carving at a pace appropriate to your skills and experience.
There is no formal assessment but there is ongoing advice, guidance and feedback from your teacher.

You learn carving skills and gradually build up practical knowledge and gain in confidence. By the end of the course you should also have your very own piece of carved wood.

There are no formal entry requirements – all you need is enthusiasm for the craft of carving.

You can enrol on further terms so you can gain more experience and carve more complex pieces of your own.

Health and safety information is provided, as is instruction in how to use and care for carving tools. The teacher can advise with building of building you own tool kit with recommended quality tool suppliers.

Please note: we advise you not purchase any materials or equipment for this course until you have received confirmation that the course has enough students to run.
