We have designed this course for staff with some years’ experience who are due to progress to supervisory or junior management positions. They are likely to work in Procurement, Finance or Logistics but may be from a range of disciplines. Graduate entrants and development trainees will also find the course helpful.



By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Help design and apply effective supplier appraisal processes
  • Develop and manage a supplier base systematically
  • Work with preferred supplier lists to develop robust processes for tendering and awarding contracts
  • Design and implement a vendor rating system
  • Use data about vendors effectively
  • Understand suppliers’ viewpoints and develop cooperative relationships with them
  • Identify and agree performance improvement targets with suppliers
  • Design, implement and monitor development plans with suppliers
