Entry and admission criteria
International students
- Qualification as pharmacist from a recognised institution
- English Language competency (IELTS, score 6.5) or a degree taught in English
- Must have be working in an area of pharmacy
The University may consider accreditation of prior learning if the student has done similar courses at a different university.
Teaching and assessment
Our distance learning approach is ideally designed for studying at home and in the workplace. Study materials are available online in the DMU virtual learning environment.
We suggest you plan to spend about eight to ten hours a week studying the course material for the MSc/PG Dip/PG Cert.

Academic expertise
We have a dedicated team of staff who contribute to the course. The programme and module leaders are all registered, practicing pharmacists, and have experience in the hospital, community, primary care and prescribing areas of pharmacy practice.
MSc supervisors are drawn from the Leicester School of Pharmacy |and local community and hospital pharmacists who can support you in your project. We also use a team of expert pharmacists and doctors who contribute to the development of the course material and assessments on the study days.
Graduate careers
All of the options within the Clinical Pharmacy MSc are suitable for practicing pharmacists who wish to develop their careers and gain an additional clinical qualification. The specialist and learning skills you acquire are highly sought after in many different sectors of practice.
Having an MSc or PG Dip is recognised by some employers as a stepping stone in career progression.
