Level 3 Award in Education and Training
This 'train the trainer' course replaces the old PTLLS course and is suitable for Managers, proprietors, trainers and other personnel entering training or teaching roles, particularly those in the public sector, wishing to deliver CIEH qualifications.
This course may be the required minimum threshold to teach publicly-funded courses, and can be completed as a full 5 day course, or, for those who have already completed the Level 3 Award in Training: Principles and Practice course, with a two-day course covering Units 1 and 3.

COURSE PROGAMME

Unit 1: Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training:
v Roles and responsibilities
v Maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment
v Relationships between teachers and other professionals in education and training
Unit 2: Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training:
v Inclusive teaching and learning approaches
v Ways to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment
v Planning and delivery of inclusive teaching and learning
v Evaluation of delivery of inclusive teaching and learning
Unit 3: Understanding assessment in education and training:
v Types and methods of assessment
v How to involve learners and others in the assessment process
v Role and use of constructive feedback
v Requirements for keeping records of assessment
DURATION AND ASSESSMENT
Five day course, including 2 multiple choice exams, plus the following:
Assessment for Unit 2: two assignments
v A 1000 word outline of the candidate’s specialism.
v Production and delivery of a 20-25 minute ‘microteaching’ (training) session
v Feedback and self-evaluation to review the effectiveness of the session, and peer assessments of others on the course.
