OVERVIEW
The‘Test Techniques – Practitioner Level’ workshop provides delegates withpractical guidance on the application of advanced test case design techniques(and measures of test coverage), and advice on the choice of which of thesetechniques and measures to use. The aim is to extend the delegate’s toolsetof techniques from which they can then choose most effectively.

Thisone-day tutor-led workshop includes slides, exercises and practical work, anduses a hands-on approach based on group exercises and discussions. It ishighly-interactive, allowing attendees to learn from the experience of theinstructor and each other, and, owing to its interactive nature, each workshopis restricted to a maximum of 18 delegates.
Thisworkshop provides delegates with practical hands-on experience of applying staticanalysis and test case design techniques to example problems relating to bothcode and business processes, each of which is supported by model answers.
Thecourse focuses on black and white box approaches as applied to both code, decision logic and business processes, but each workshop will be tailored tothe preferences of the audience on the day. All the techniques coveredwill conform to those defined in the new ISO/IEC/IEEE29119 Software TestingStandards and the BCS Software Component Testing Standard.
Advicewill also be provided on how to decide which of the techniques will be mosteffective for a given situation, based on both experience and the latestexperimental results.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives for introduction to testtechniques:
· Togive attendees an awareness of the benefits of using static analysis toidentify test objectives and risks
· Togive attendees experience in applying static analysis & structure-based testdesign techniques
· Togive attendees experience in applying black-box approaches to business processvia use-cases
· Togive attendees an appreciation of how test techniques are appropriate fordifferent systems under test and/or different levels of risk
· Togive attendees an appreciation of how these techniques are used to create testcases and measure test coverage
AUDIENCE
Theworkshop is principally aimed at testers and test engineers who have alreadyattended the Test techniques – Foundation level course who want to improve thequality and effectiveness of the tests they (or their testers) design, and whowant to ensure that they are fully aware of current best industry practices.
