ATTENDANCE Several attendance options are available to suit a range of needs: day, afternoon/evening and twilight The BTEC Higher National Certificate (HNC) is a specialist vocational programme with a strong work related emphasis. The qualification provides a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required in the sector with national recognition by employers allowing progression direct into employment or to various degree programmes. This course is designed for people who aspire to work at middle management level in industry, commerce or the public sector. Both business knowledge and skills will be developed which are appropriate for a wide range of careers and industries. A BTEC Higher National Certificate can be used as an entry qualification for further professional or vocational studies. Many students choose to convert the certificate to a diploma by studying two extra core units and four extra additional units. In the past some students have gained entry to the final year of business related degree programmes at prestigious universities. Other students have enhanced their career prospects and performance. Recognised Level 3 qualification in business or relative area Or an adequate performance in more than one GCE subject. This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades at A* to C. Access to Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved further education institution. Mature learners may present a more varied profile of achievement that is likely to include extensive work experience (paid and/or unpaid) and/or achievement of a range of professional qualifications in their work sector.

Learners can progress and top up to HND Business by completing a 3rd year at college or move onto various degree programmes (explained at course induction) or progress onto the ILM Level 6 Diploma in Management
