About This Course

This course is suitable for those interested in a higher level study in the area of healthcare and complementary therapies and aims to develop a critical understanding or well-established therapy treatments through a combination of theory and work based learning. Students will also be trained in management methods to boost professional performance in the industry. Your studies will include: · Study / Interpersonal skills · Evidence and research · Personal and professional development · Counselling/psychology · Business practice · Reflexology, aromatherapy and holistic massage · Anatomy and physiology / applied biology · Diet and nutrition · Mental health care There is a work based element during the course to enable real work projects to naturally occur. Students do not need to be employed in a management capacity during the course.

All students are required to purchase a kit and uniform for the practical modules. Details will be supplied for ordering.

Entry Criteria

You will require a D grade at A Level and A*-C in GCSE maths and English or a Level 3 vocational qualification including maths and English at equivalent Level 2 (or GCSE A*- C) This course must be applied for through UCAS: http://ucas.com/students/apply/

Progression Details

On successful completion of this course you can progress to a top up year at the University of Gloucestershire to a BSC in Health Management. Career opportunities can be found in private practice, linked to GP surgeries and hospitals and the healthcare sector.
