HND Computing (ICT Systems Support)

This course is aimed at students wishing to develop skills in technical hardware installation and support. The course integrates technical studies with practical experience in the installation and maintenance of hardware and software, including network installation and maintenance. In addition, the programme develops skills in Problem-solving, planning and scheduling, team working, research, report writing, project working and management. During the two years you will study the following: Year One - Computer Platforms Programming Concepts Database Design Concepts Networking Concepts Personal Skills Development Management in IT End User Support Website Design Year Two - Systems Analysis Networking Project Networking Technology Quality Systems Project Management E-Business Strategy Internet Server Management Data Analysis and Design This course is also available as an HNC on a two-year, part-time basis with one day of attendance per week. This course requires a satisfactory reference and a tariff of 160 UCAS points from within the main programme area of study. Further points awarded through key skills and other UCAS accredited qualifications will be recognised as additional achievement.
