- Safeguarding children
- Special educational needs. Additional studies may include:
- British Red Cross Certificate in First Aid
- Food Hygiene This programme requires a minimum of 800 hours on work placement to achieve the full qualification. This will be in a variety of placements to allow real experience of a working environment. You may be required to continue to study Maths or IT as part of your course.

Progression
On completion you can enter employment or undertake further training in paediatric nursing or nursery/primary teaching. If you wish to enter nursing/teacher training you will also need GCSE English, maths & Human Biology at Grade C or above.

Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) including English Language, or equivalent (eg. First Diploma in Health & Social Care or CCLD with a Merit or Distinction profile and English GCSE Grade C).
