Course Content

• The present and potential impact of new technology
• ILT, e-learning and m-learning theory and practice
• Working with and through ILT, e-learning and m-learning
• The range, role and limitations of teaching with new technology
• The design and evaluation of ILT resources and activities
• Reflection on the experience of learning online and with new technology
• Supporting teaching, learning, equality and diversity through new technology.

Assessment Method

• A 2000 word assignment
• Participation in online seminar activities
• Observation of teaching practice
• Designing resources, schemes of work and lesson plans
• Keeping a reflective journal.

Progression

The 30 credits awarded can be used as building blocks towards a higher credit.

Entry Requirements

• A Cert Ed or PGCE and/or the ability to work at Level 5.
• IT Skills at level 2 or above.
• Able to demonstrate 30 hours of teaching (across 20 weeks) using ILT or e-learning.
