What does the course include?
This course had a 92 per cent pass rate in 2011/2012.

The AS qualification covers the following three units:
- Atoms, Bonds & Groups
- Chains, Energy & Resources
- Practical Skills in Chemistry
The A2 units are:
- Rings, Polymers & Resources
- Equilibria, Energetics & Elements
- Practical Skills 2

What do I need to get on this course?
You must have passed either GCSE Chemistry with at least Grade C or GCSE Core/Additional Science with at least Grades BB.
GCSE English and Maths at Grade B or better are also requirements to take this course.
If you have equivalent qualifications to the above, you will be expected to take assessment tests.
You will also be assessed for suitability when the course has run for four weeks.
We do not accept BTEC Level 2 qualifications as a route on to this course.
Where does it lead?
Chemistry is often called the central science because it bridges the gap between the Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences. Chemistry A Level is essential for many Science degrees and very useful for many others.
