Summary

This multi-skilled route ensures that on completion you will have gained practical experience, knowledge and understanding and have some expectation of the situations that you could face in a role within the engineering sector. You will study units from Engineering Techniques to Engineering Environmental Awareness. On completion of this course you can become a Technical Engineer or continue onto the Extended Diploma Level 3.

Entry Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 150 GCSE entry pointswith at least four GCSE passes at grades C - D (preferably English and Maths at grade C) or

What will I be doing on the course?

The course has a mix of applied theory and practical content and aims to provide training in the skills needed to work in a wide range of engineering fields.

You will study units from Engineering Fabrication to Electronics.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is by a series of BTEC devised, college set assignments, carried out progressively during the programme.

What will I need?

Boots and overalls.

You may be required to purchase a recommended text book.

What can I do next?

  • Successful completion of this course will gain you the BTEC First Diploma at Level 2
  • It may enable you to progress tot he BTEC Extended Diploma course at Level 3
