BTEC Extended Diploma in Business (Retail Pathway)

Summary

This advanced vocational qualification gives you a real insight into different business roles within a retail organisation. You will study everything from visual merchandising to business environment. The course will give you an excellent understanding of the retail sector.

Entry Requirements

At least 200 GCSE entry points with a minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C including Maths orEnglish or Functional Skills Level 2, or a Level 2 qualification such as a First Diploma (at Merit Level or above).

What will I be doing on the course?

Over the course of two years, you will study 18 different units (9 each year). The units you could study include: The Business Environment, Marketing, Business Communication, Business Resources, Visual Merchandising in Retail, Understanding Retail, Food Retailing, Fashion Retailing, Supply Chain & Stock Management, Transport Planning, Creative Product Promotion, Supply Chain Organisation, Starting a Small Business, Human Resources, Managing a Business Event, Business Accountancy, Business Ethics.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is continuous throughout the course. You will be assessed on different assignment tasks for each Unit.

BTEC Business books and USB memory stick.

• Progress to Higher Education at HRC with Foundation Degrees
• Progress to a Degree in Business or Retail
• Employment in the Retail Sector

Additional Activities

You will have the chance to take part in additional activities, including sports. You will also study Functional Skills. Trips to exhibitions, retail and logistic businesses in and around London. Work experience opportunities are available as part of this course.
