Economics of Education MSc

This masters degree will:

• develop your ability to apply economics and quantitative research methods to the analysis of educational issues
• assess the benefits and costs of education to individuals and to society, and use this framework to evaluate education policies in both developing and developed economies
• use quantitative research methods and mixed methods in evaluating specific education policies
• give you the skills you need to appraise critically research in the economics of education and to work on research projects using quantitative and mixed methods.

If you have studied economics in your first degree and need a better understanding of policy evaluation and the economics of education for your work in educational policy, this will give you the skills you need.

Entry requirements

A good first degree in economics and knowledge of basic statistics. You should be involved in, or interested in, education policy and administration.

How are you assessed?

By coursework assignments and a 15,000-word dissertation.

Attendance

Face-to-face afternoon or evening sessions (timings may vary) and one four-day intensive course.
