This module will provide a general introduction to the foundations of education in our modern society, including the social, historical and philosophical underpinnings of education and its relationship to aspects of equality and inequality in society such as social class, gender, ethnicity, disability and sexuality.
This is a compulsory module to be taken in Year 1 of the BA Education Studies (Honours).
