This module has been designed to extend BTs' experience beyond the classroom through participation in collaborative music projects with outside agencies, including professional music organisations and community music. Opportunities will be given to observe and engage with different pedagogical strategies (formal and informal) and to understand how musician educators work with young people in settings and venues other than school. They will be able to gain an overview of the development and subsequent expansion of collaborative arts work within both historical and current contexts and engage with the implications of their experience for learning and teaching both in and beyond the classroom.
