Level 2 - Public Services Pathway

The course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success when moving towards a career in the uniformed services such as the Police, Emergency Fire Services, Prison Service, Security or Armed Services.

You will investigate the uniformed services - what they are, what staff do and what career opportunities exist. You will also find out how services interact, and the meaning of inter-agency working.

The BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Public Services is broadly equivalent to two GCSEs, and you will also take GCSE Maths and English during the same academic year.

Employment opportunities - entry into the uniformed and non-uniformed services.

Further vocational and academic qualifications - if you achieve an overall Pass grade or better you may wish to follow a Level 3 Pathway e.g. by taking the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business, which is broadly equivalent to two GCE A Levels. Alternatively, you may wish to enrol onto a different Level 3 course within the College.
