PURPOSEThese pathways are designed to furnish qualified nurses
with the evidence to demonstrate eligibility to register their
specialist practitioner status with the Nursing & Midwifery
Council (NMC). They may also suit registered practitioners who are
supporting autonomous practice, supporting educational and practice
development or exercising clinical leadership and who seek further
educational opportunities to further this.
DESCRIPTIONYou will undertake core modules in leadership in public
health, evidence-based practice, healthcare research, child
protection, specialist practice and for health visiting students,
nurse prescribing. School nursing students may choose a clinically
focussed option after discussion with the pathway leader. Students
progressing to the MSc undertake a substantial project relevant to
their own area of practice.
