PURPOSEFor all those who teach, lecture or organise educational provision at any level. To enable professionals concerned with education to reflect on their practice and to inform such reflection by extending their knowledge. Students will be made aware of significant current developments in contemporary pedagogical policy and practice.

DESCRIPTIONThis is a dynamic programme constantly redesigned to keep up with changing ideas and practice. Being one of the leading research institutions in science education it offers students excellent opportunities in a close knit supportive environment. It forms part of our department's successful modular MA programme which has been running for over 10 years. Although rooted in practical experience the programme emphasises the theoretical study of education.

It will offer the opportunity to reflect on current provision in the light of past and present policy decisions and to evaluate current research and curricular innovations. It will provide up-to-date knowledge and evidence based information about science education practice and pedagogical developments.

EXTRA PROGRAMME INFORMATIONThe department is an international centre for educational research and holds many seminar series related to this research, for example the seminar series of the Science Technology and Education Group. Students are encouraged to attend relevant seminars.
