This course is suitable for students wishing to extend their creative and technical skills in digital imagery to prepare for a career in digital related industries. Students will examine in depth the work of animation in both a contemporary and historical context, through a series of formal lectures, tutorials and research work that is linked to the production of your practical and written coursework.
The course is underpinned by the creative use of digital technology. Emphasis is placed on vocational working, research and analysis of project work. Students will be encouraged to develop their individual creative ability and support this with the development of a high level of technical skills.

This full-time two-year course specialises in the artistic and creative aspects of animation production. It is designed for the concept creator and 2D/3D animator with an eye for quality visual and conceptual development. Strong abilities in drawing, visual research and time-based concept origination are essential qualities students will need, as well as an ability to learn the computer techniques required for animation production and editing.

Year 1 lays the groundwork for the innovative exploration of ideas; ideas that have strong contextual foundation. Throughout the course, students will develop their own area of interest within photography and moving image, which will complement developing design awareness within the subject.
