The course allows students to develop their practice in a chosen specialist area (acting, dance or technical theatre) and in collaboration with different disciplines.

Students will have the opportunity to work with professional practitioners whilst developing their own work.

The course is dedicated to facilitating your development as an independent practitioner. As such, modules have at their core the practical work that helps students explore the nature of performance, and nurtures your growth as a creative artist.

The course is dedicated to facilitating your development as an independent practitioner. As such, modules have at their core the practical work that helps students explore the nature of performance, and nurtures your growth as a creative artist.

Students will be given an overview of the theatre arts industry and gain the underpinning knowledge necessary to operate effectively within it. Students will develop their understanding of the role and standing of the industry in a broader economic, political, social and technological context.

Students should possess, or expect to achieve, ONE of the following in dance, acting, performance, technical theatre or theatre:

  • Foundation Degree (FdA)
  • Higher National Diploma (HND)
  • Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE)
  • A higher education-level programme in another field of study with relevant industrial experience.

Mature students with significant professional experience and a higher qualification in an appropriate subject area are welcome to apply.
