Award in Alcohol Awareness (Level 1)

This qualification provides an introduction to some of the issues surrounding alcohol use. Raising awareness of these issues will help give people the basic knowledge needed to support their lifestyle and wellbeing and promote healthy choices. This qualification consists of one mandatory unit.

This qualification is for learners aged 16 and above.

This is a self study course which means you can study at home, workplace or wherever you choose at times that are convenient for you. You do not have any classes to attend.

The materials for this course are paper based and will be posted to you. You will be supported throughout the course by a specialist Distance Learning Tutor. Your tutor will contact you (via your College email account) within 7-10 working days of receiving your welcome letter and materials. As you progress they will continue to make regular contact to offer support and guidance, usually by e-mail but sometimes by phone, to ensure you are making good progress and to support your learning throughout. Please note that you must be able to study independently through the course materials.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

This qualification consists of 1 mandatory unit:

1. unit 01 Introduction to alcohol awareness for the individual

To be awarded the NCFE Level 1 Award in Alcohol Awareness learners are required to successfully complete the mandatory unit.

Course work will be internally and externally moderated.

The qualification is accredited by NCFE (an English awarding body) www.ncfe.org.uk and has no end test.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this award. Candidates wishing to undertake this award should have the minimum level of literacy and numeracy necessary to use the distance learning materials and to complete the assessment tasks.
